Callahan Talks Consumer Insights and New Wipes Packaging at World of Wipes 2013

Perimeter Brand Packaging joined the Association of Nonwoven Fabrics Industry (INDA) to participate in the World of Wipes (WOW) 2013 conference. The event, held in Atlanta, GA on June 17-20, brought together industry experts and thought leaders from the nonwoven world.

“We’ve been doing work in the wet wipes packaging field for ten years and we’ve spent the last year talking to consumers about beauty and hard surface cleaning wipes,” said Steve Callahan, President of Perimeter Brand Packaging. “Because of this, we have a significant amount of insight into the consumer’s mind regarding wipes and are thrilled to be able to share some of those insights at WOW.”

This year WOW focused on several different sectors of the nonwoven industry, like Healthcare, North American and European trends, and Technology and Additives. Callahan was invited to speak on how “Consumer Insights Drive New Packaging Solutions”.

“By studying consumer insights, we can learn more about their behaviors,” said Callahan. “That means we can provide packaging solutions for wipes that better fit within their current lifestyles, therefore find new opportunities to drive consumption of wipes.”

Flexible Packaging Industry Learns “Structure Matters” at Global Pouch Forum

Perimeter Brand Packaging joined flexible packaging experts to participate in the 2013 Global Pouch Forum. The forum, held in Fort Lauderdale, FL on June 12-14, was the largest show ever held by the forum organizers, Packaging Strategies.

“There’s no doubt that flexible packaging is growing. Unfortunately, a lot of people in the flexible world see rigid packaging as the enemy. We want people to see us as their friend,” said Steve Callahan, President of Perimeter Brand Packaging. “Flexible and rigid elements can do more together in packaging than either can do alone.”

Callahan’s talk, “Structure’s Role in Improving Pouch Usability”, which focused on three major strategic insights how rigid plastic fitments can provide flexible packaging with the features consumers desire.

“While flexible packaging is great in a lot of ways, there are certain areas it just can’t deliver on when it comes to ease of dispensing or open and closing,” said Callahan. “We believe that optimizing flexible packaging with innovative rigid fitments and closures is the future of pouch packaging.
