Flexible Packaging Industry Learns “Structure Matters” at Global Pouch Forum

Perimeter Brand Packaging joined flexible packaging experts to participate in the 2013 Global Pouch Forum. The forum, held in Fort Lauderdale, FL on June 12-14, was the largest show ever held by the forum organizers, Packaging Strategies.

“There’s no doubt that flexible packaging is growing. Unfortunately, a lot of people in the flexible world see rigid packaging as the enemy. We want people to see us as their friend,” said Steve Callahan, President of Perimeter Brand Packaging. “Flexible and rigid elements can do more together in packaging than either can do alone.”

Callahan’s talk, “Structure’s Role in Improving Pouch Usability”, which focused on three major strategic insights how rigid plastic fitments can provide flexible packaging with the features consumers desire.

“While flexible packaging is great in a lot of ways, there are certain areas it just can’t deliver on when it comes to ease of dispensing or open and closing,” said Callahan. “We believe that optimizing flexible packaging with innovative rigid fitments and closures is the future of pouch packaging.
